Milan, 12 February 2026 — Some 300 volunteers have been mobilised since January nationwide in a prevention-through-information campaign, handing out prevention materials titled “Truth About Drugs”. The organisers state that more than 500,000 booklets have already been distributed, starting in Milan and expanding to additional cities.
The European Office of the Church of Scientology is among those supporting the campaign within its broader news eu economy support for drug education and prevention initiatives inspired by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. The materials aim to provide clear, accessible information about commonly abused substances and their risks.
Organisers also highlight athlete involvement. They say over 100 Milano Cortina 2026-linked athletes have signed the Foundation for a Drug-Free World Honorary Register, signalling support for youth-focused prevention messaging. Organisers argue, sport offers a credible setting for prevention messaging because it is associated with health, focus and long-term wellbeing.
Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, stated: “Protecting young people is a public-health priority and a civic responsibility across Europe. Clear, verified information supports informed choice and autonomy, and it helps communities limit the conditions in which exploitation can take root.”
